Im thinking you're Dr. Basliel Wolde Gabriel. I really like your site but it seems you have not done any work on it for about 3 years. It would be nice to have more historical content in it. Again I really love your site.
My dad, Basliel Gabriel, passed away three years ago. That's why the website hasn't been updated. But, thank you. He would have been happy to hear that.
This is a very unique and resourceful site. Please keep going. Recruit and engage participants. Thanks.
My brother Samuel Aberra passed away and I am so happy that I found this graduation Picture here.
I will be very happy if there are other Pictures or Memories of him to share and treasure from his Classmates.
I had the opportunity to connect with Dr. Basliel before he passed away. As I recall, he was living in the DC area, and as I would expect had comleted his PhD in the biological sciences. We planned to meet but unfortunatel never had the occassion. I am the person who sent him the photograph of our post graduation ceremony at the palace. The photograph was taken by my brother an I still have the negative. It was deeply saddened when Dr. basliel passed away. Since then, I have made an effort to connect with others in our class. Tesfu is in Ethiopia. I met him when I first returned to Ethiopia in 1993. I understand he is still in Ethiopia and doing well. I was in touch with Nick some years ago. He is living in Greece. Likewise, I was also in touch with Dr. Farshad who live in the DC area. Very sad to hear Samuel passed away as well. Sammi was a good friend in school.I was in touch with Negussu while I was in Ethiopia to serve briefly as the Director General for Legal Affairs for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Negussu was a diplomat stationed in Sweden. Mengesha,Negussu's brother, who some of you may remember lives in Oklohoma. Though I have not been in touch with others, I understand that the many are engineers. It would be wonderful to learn more about the others. As far as I am concerned I came to the US in 1967 and since then graduated with a BA in Economics from Linfield University, followed by a JD from Northwesrern and an LLM from the University of San Diego in International Law. I went on to complete a Doctor of the Science of Jurrisprudence and a Phd in law at York University in Canada. Those of you who remember me may also remember my interest in studying law. The name of Dr. Basliel's brother is at the tip om tongue, but presently eludes me. Thank you for keeping Dr. Basliel's work alive.
Hey! I'm Basliel's kid - Sara Gabriel.
